Undergraduate researcher focused on the ways that craft based participatory designs can tell researchers what methods could be used to implement technology in a meaningful way to empower older populations in their health. Investigated in the area of human-computer interaction, conducted both quantitative and qualitative research, and shadowed other HCI researchers.

Participated in a project of translating a health social networking website to help develop Quantified Self experiments for patients with severe health conditions to build customized healthcare treatments. Collaborated and conducted evaluations of new techniques and applications for the purpose of current projects in the Designing Health Lab. Facilitated support in implementing, integrating, and analyzing personal analytics applications to ensure relevance to DHL projects as needed. Obtained experience and insight of Health Informatics related research.

Took part in research and project support within the lab.Participated in evaluations and collaborations of other members’ work to help aid projects and tasks to move forward within the lab. Complied to research and development projects, including timelines and deliverables. Gained essential knowledge of Policy Informatics.

Pointed customers to relevant information about services available at the facility. Addressed customer inquiries, appointments, and service information in-person and over the phone. Served as key holder, responsible for opening and closing the facility. Operated cash register for cash, check, credit card transactions. Trained new employees on everyday tasks, operate machinery, and customer service techniques. Operated pitching machines and demonstrated use and care within the cages to customers.
